Who is the Jetix mascot?
Jay is the mascot of the Jetix channel brands. He was originally the mascot of the Jetix block on Toon Disney, and decided to take a trip upon hearing the news that the Jetix block (alongside Toon Disney) was replaced by Disney Channel’s sister channel, Disney XD.

Disney XD carries the same name as an unrelated mini-site and media player on Disney.com, which stood for Disney Xtreme Digital, though it has been stated that the “XD” in the channel’s name does not have an actual meaning. The channel’s first original television movie, Skyrunners, premiered on November 27, 2009.

On January 31, 2018, Jetix changed it’s logo into it’s predecessor’s original logo design. On January 30, 2019, the Toonvision and Worldkids international channels, along with several assets like DisNick XD and QUAD, were merged into Jetix, as part of “Children’s Media Assets Consolidation”.

Jetix debuted on February 14, 2004 as a programming block on ABC Family and Toon Disney in the United States, after News Corporation (later 21st Century Fox) and Haim Saban sold the Fox Kids library to The Walt Disney Company as part of the sale of ABC Family (then known as Fox Family Channel) to Disney.
When did Jetix start in America?
Outside of the United States, Jetix was firstly launched as a programming block on the European Fox Kids channels in April 2004, airing in mornings and afternoons. The transition to the Jetix brand started in August 2004, with replacing the French version of Fox Kids, and at the same month, it was also launched in Latin America.
What happened to Jetix in Europe?
After The Walt Disney Company increased their ownership in Jetix Europe, they planned to rebrand the channels after Jetix’s rebranding into Disney XD or Disney Channel. The CEE and Polish feeds were closed down on 1 August 2010, in Turkey on 1 September 2010 and was lastly closed in Romania, on March 12, 2011.
