What are oar locks called?
A rowlock UK: /ˈrɒlək/, sometimes spur (due to the similarity in shape and size), oarlock (USA) or gate, is a brace that attaches an oar to a boat. In the sport of rowing, the rowlocks are attached to outriggers (often just called “riggers”), which project from the boat and provide greater leverage.
How do you lock up oars?

Measure the distance between the center of the port and starboard oar sockets, which hold the oar locks on each gunnel. This is called the “span” between the oarlocks. Divide the span by 2, and then add 2 to this number. The result is called the “inboard loom length” of the oar.

What is row lock?
ROWLOCK forces the locks to be taken only on rows. That is, it prevents the locks to be escalated to pages or table. By itself, ROWLOCK does not cause anything to be locked, and it does not control when the locks are released.

What size oars do I need?
