What is a gun hop up?
Hop-up is the backspin put on airsoft pellets and BBs to increase their range via the Magnus effect. This causes the plastic pellet to fall less over a given distance than it would without the spin applied, extending the effective range of the weapon without increasing velocity.
What does adjusting hop up do?
Its main function is to increase and decrease the pressure applied on one side (top) of your BB when chambered that creates a backspin when fired thus creating a perpendicular force pulling the BB upwards and increasing effective range.
How does a hop up work?
A hop-up is a device that puts a backspin on a BB, which helps it fly much further without dropping as quickly, which is known as the Magnus effect. This backspin reduces the air pressure at the top of the BB, which decreases the rate at which the BB falls.
What is Airsofting?
Airsoft is a military simulation sport where players participate in mock combat with authentic military-style weapons and tactics. Unlike paintball, airsoft uses 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic. The guns used are full scale replicas of real world weapons. They also shoot a lower velocity than gas or AEG guns.
What is flat Hop?
The Flat hop is something that was made public last spring. The idea had floated around for quite some time, but was finalized and publicized by me. It works due to a lengthened contact with the bb, longer than a traditional hop up. It involves a patch that is placed in the hop up window of the barrel.
Why do my Airsoft BBs curve up?
Consistent curving of the BB is generally due to one of three things, depending on the aggressiveness of the curve. Subtle Curve: Your barrel is probably dirty. A dirty barrel in a brand spanking new gun is extremely common. Solution: Clean your barrel.

What is an R-hop?
An R-Hop is a small patch of rubber that sits in the cut-out window of the inner barrel. It slightly protrudes into the barrel in order to apply friction to the BB when it passes. This causes backspin. It differs from a regular hop system because it almost completely matches the profile of the barrel.
What is a hop up airsoft gun?
The ball is supported as it moves, which allows it to move forwards faster and far more accurately. Many airsoft guns and revolvers come with a hop up pre-installed, but you can also buy hop-up adjustments that you can fit to airsoft guns yourself.
How do Hophop-up devices work?
Hop-up devices are used with many airsoft guns to increase the range. They work by reducing the air pressure on the top side of the pellet via what is known as the “Magnus Effect”.
Why buy a c02 repeating action revolving air pistol?
