Is it easier to get into Usuhs?

As medical schools go, USUHS is moderately difficult to get into. There are easier schools, like Texas Tech, USF, Loma Linda or AHU if you’re Adventist, Eastern Virginia, UC Riverside, etc. And there are harder schools, like Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Duke, and the like.

60% of matriculants have no prior military service (but those with prior service ARE given preference – ROTC counts)
3200 applications each year for 171 spots.
3.6 average GPA.
509-510 average MCAT.
Holistic review – those with above a 3.0 and a 500 will be considered based on other merits.

Upon graduation, students are promoted to the rank of O-3 (Captain for Army/Air Force, and Lieutenant for Navy/Public Health Service). *PHS graduates have a ten year active duty obligation.
