MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Part of an old and well-known resort went up in flames Sunday night in Monroe County. The fire destroyed part of the old Fernwood complex just outside of East Stroudsburg. The resort on the Monroe/Pike County line had been closed for years.

We allow pets in the Campground, RV camping, and the Tent Cabins. We ask you leave your pets at home when you are staying in the Motel, Cabins and Adventure Tents. Please keep your pet on a leash at all times and your pets should not be left unattended.

Can I sleep in my car in Big Sur?
Hwy 1 through Big Sur is a remote area, so the highway patrol can only monitor the road so much – its not like they can just pass by various sections on their way to somewhere else. So, yes, it is possible to sleep in your car and not get caught. If you are caught, at the very least you will be told to move along.

Reservations can be made three days in advance. All single campsite reservations are good for 6 people and 1 vehicle. Maximum number of people per single site is 8 ($10.00 additional charge per person per night after 6 people).
Is there WiFi in Big Sur?
It works at Pfeiffer Big Sur Lodge. Or go down by the Lodge to get reception. We did alright without our phones. WiFi doesn’t work unless you have a booster!
