Is power grid good for 2 players?
Two player Power Grid is a good way to learn the rules, mechanics and some of the flows of the game. The first time I played it was two player and it did the above well. It is one my favourite games and I have never played it two player again. Play something else.
Why do strategy games use hexagons?
If movement rates are an important part of your game, then the ability to move in six directions at the same rate can be valuable. Hexes are also more convenient for measuring distances, since you can just count the number of hexes without worrying about diagonals throwing anything off.
