Is high Point State Park worth a visit?
I’ll definitely be back! High Point State Park is definitely a must-visit spot in north Jersey that is close to the NY border. As you approach this monument, there’s a toll booth that charges $10 for NJ residents and $20 for out of state residents. It’s cheaper to visit during the week if you’re able to swing out that far M-F.
When was High Point State Park built?
The land for High Point State Park, donated by Colonel Anthony R. and Susie Dryden Kuser, was dedicated as a park in 1923. The pleasant landscaping was designed by the Olmsted Brothers of Boston, a prominent landscape architectural firm of that time.
What is there to do around high point?
The actual park has other hiking trails, a scenic drive route (with picnic bench areas that overlook the mountains) that goes up to a watch tower where you can look out over ny/nj. Of course there is the incredible Veterns Monument that can be seen from many places around High Point.
