What was the point of Ecco the Dolphin?
The game opens with Ecco, a bottlenose dolphin, as he and his pod are swimming in their home bay. A podmate challenges Ecco to a game to see how high he can jump into the air. When he is in the air, a giant waterspout forms and sucks up all marine life in the bay except Ecco, leaving him alone in the bay.

The Last Fight is the very last level of Ecco the Dolphin. It consist of a boss fight against the Vortex Queen, which has to be beaten in order to complete the game. The boss fight is infamous for warping Ecco back to Welcome to the Machine when they are killed.

It’s not the most likely candidate for scariest game ever, but SEGA’s 1992 game did mess some of its players up. As a child, video games were my main pastime.
