What is the YAGP Grand Prix award?
YAGP was the first competition to introduce the concept that a student does not have to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place to receive the prize (scholarship). Scholarships at YAGP are awarded based on each individual school director’s evaluation of a student’s potential, independently of the panel of judges’ decision.

The Youth America Grand Prix is the largest ballet competition and scholarship program in the world. Dancers start out competing at 25 locations spread across the world.
How do you qualify for YAGP?
YAGP is open to dance students of all nationalities, ages 9 -19 years old. Students younger or older may participate in the Ensemble or Pas de Deux category, as long as the average age of the dancers in the ensemble or Pas de Deux falls between ages 9 and 19.

To apply for Regional Semi-Finals, participants must register online on the YAGP website http://www.yagp.org To apply for the New York Finals, participants must be invited from their Semi-Final event, and will receive further instructions from YAGP staff.
Does YAGP give scholarships?
Since 1999, YAGP has awarded over $3,000,000 in scholarships to the world’s leading dance schools. YAGP’s bi-annual Job Fair is a special audition program giving YAGP participants and alumni a chance to be seen and hired by the directors of the world’s leading dance companies.
