The Strandfontein pavilion and pool complex was constructed from 1974- 1985, which was opened by the Administrator of Cape Town City, Engi- neer’s Department in July 1983 by Mr. Gene Louw. The purpose was to provide beach front amenities on the False Bay coast for the growing Coloured population in the area.
