What is the difference between Magnatiles and Magformers?
Magna-tiles (and most other brands) are solid plastic tiles with magnets along each face to connect together. On the other hand, Magformers are just the outline of shapes. They are not “filled in”.

No you can’t. They don’t work together at all. We had a set of Magna Tiles and a set of Magformers and we ended up selling the Manga Tiles and buying more Magformers because they were 100% incompatible.
How do you make a shape magnetic?
Step-by-step instructions
- Shape 6 spheres into a circle.
- Grasp the circle in two places and squeeze to create a triangle.
- Put together 20 of these triangles.
- Combine 10 of these triangles as depicted and repeat with the remaining triangles.
- Connect the two formations.
- Carefully shape everything into a ball (see video).
