Can I take my prescription to any optician?
Yes, you can take your prescription to another optician and buy glasses from another practice. An optician is obliged to provide you with the written prescription following the eye examination. By law, the prescription must provide the basic results of the eye examination.
Can I take my eye prescription anywhere?
The Rule gives you the right to get your prescription from your eye doctor – whether you ask for it or not – at no extra charge. You can use the prescription to buy eyeglasses wherever they are sold – from an eye doctor, from a store, or online.

Two international companies dominate the Australian market: Specsavers, and Luxottica, which owns OPSM and Laubman & Pank.
Can I return glasses to opticians?
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 enshrines in law certain provisions where it is possible to receive a refund on certain items purchased from an optician. For example, strictly speaking, a consumer is not entitled to a full refund or credit note if they change their mind on a frame or the purchase as a whole.
Do all Specsavers have my prescription?
Your prescription is held by the store that did your test, you can contact them for a copy. You can call a different store and ask to have them transferred. This is because each Specsavers store is jointly owned and managed by one or more Store Partners.

Where are Specsavers lenses made?
Specsavers has all their frames manufactured in china. Designers are simply compensated to attach their names to certain ranges. The designers do not design their frames. Specsavers lenses are all manufactured through their own specsavers surfacing lab in Australia.
