BOSIET is a very simple training program that covers all major and minor points of safe working in the offshore facility. The course duration is mainly of three days.
How long does a BOSIET certificate last?
To maintain this certificate, it is an OPITO requirement to revalidate every 4 years (FOET or TFOET). This training is regulated and endorsed by OPITO, which is the global, not-for-profit, skills body for the energy industry.
Is FOET the same as BOSIET?
FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training) is also known as the BOSIET refresher. Your BOSIET certificate is only valid for four years and before it expires you will have to complete the appropriate FOET course which validates the certificate for another four years.
Can you fail a BOSIET?

What do you wear to a BOSIET?
Valid Passport for proof of identity. Valid in date OG/UK Medical certificate….Please bring the following on the first day:
- Towel and toiletries.
- Clothing (tee shirt and shorts/ tracksuit bottoms) suitable to wear under immersion suit and fire suit.
- Waterproof bag to carry wet clothing.
What should I bring to BOSIET training?
Submit the following documents found with this document in order to ensure your good health. Documents must be sent 2weeks prior to the course date. Provided ・Personal Protective Equipment (Helmet, gloves, etc.), shower towels, coveralls, boots, etc. ・Lunch (Provided a lunch box in our lounge.)
