Creators. Savva Yamshchikov. Today we remember Savva Yamshchikov.

Two years ago to a loved child of the well-known restorer, the art critic, educator Savva Yamshchikov – department of promotion of art heritage of the State research institute of restoration – thirty years were executed. During department existence his employees returned a number of the forgotten names of remarkable Russian artists from a non-existence, restored hundreds pictures, carried out a set of exhibitions, each of which was an event in cultural life of the Soviet Union and Russia.

Vitaly Kuzyuberdin: Department created Saveli Yamshchikov and Sergey Golushkin. On them it also kept, as on pillars. Move away one – and the department won’t be. Such tandem peculiar: Golushkin went to business trip, found something interesting – and Coachmen from his giving “untwisted” a find. Saveli had a tremendous organizing talent, huge human charm: the person his first time sees, in few minutes – everything, they are the best friends! And when there took place a loud exhibition of Old Russian painting on Kuznetsk to the bridge – the turn on it along all street stood.

Exhibitions became on Yamshchikov’s pressure, on the personal relations, a huge number of friends. Preparation of such action is and correspondence with museums, both photos, and lists of works, contracts, permissions, coordination. The huge volume of the work, not each organization in power – and the subject was demanded. Here on this wave the idea of creation of department of exhibitions also was born. It and still informal, working name of our department.

Hp: And why to Institute of restoration came? Same at that time not the only restoration organization was, to take the same center of Grabarya – with it Coachmen and Golushkin too actively interacted. I know that in department there are also the employees who have come from “Grabarey” …
